If we could be tourists in our own town, here is what we’d suggest. Some of these things require a car for transportation so be sure to contact ORAA to see what arrangements can be made.
- Fly into Ocean Ridge Airport, tie down
- Gather at the Pilot’s Lounge near the owner’s house
- Get a ride from a friendly ORAA member to your room at the Sea Cliff hotel. Check in and enjoy the view of the ocean and river from the private deck
- Get a coffee at Trinks Cafe and take a walk along the Bluff Trail
- Wander around the galleries downtown to work up an appetite
- Order sandwiches at the Surf Supermarket deli
- Go to the river for a picnic and take a walk across the green bridge
- Stop by the Gualala Arts Center on the way back into town
- Get dinner at Anchor Bay Thai Kitchen
- Watch the sunset from Cook’s Beach on the way back
- Stop by Four Eyed Frog bookstore to buy a new book
- Get a nightcap at Cove Azul Bar & Grill then head back to the hotel to cozy up with the new book in front of the fire
- Fall asleep listening to the crashing waves
- Get a hearty breakfast the next morning at Bones Roadhouse–there are binoculars at each table and you might be able to see a whale spout while eating
- Rent a kayak or paddleboard and paddle down the estuary from the Highway 1 bridge to the ocean where you can disembark to explore the beach or swim in the river
- Get lunch or an early dinner at Antonio’s Tacos
- Catch a theater performance at the Gualala Arts Center or see a live band at Bones Roadhouse
- Fall asleep in the hotel listening to the crashing waves
- Grab breakfast at Trinks Cafe
- Get a ride back to the airport from a friendly ORAA member
- Pay tie down fees in payment box
- Fly home, enjoying the amazing view of the ocean, the river, the dense redwood forests, and the little airport as you depart
